In 2016 academics from around the world gathered at UTD with corporate partners and agencies to discuss the field of shape memory materials and present latest findings to a focused community of scholars and companies.
This meeting offered presentations and discussion forums related to the synthesis, characterization, modelling, and application of this class of smart materials. The symposium format included invited speakers from the leaders of the field, contributed presentations, and a poster session targeted to students and postdoctoral researchers. The focus areas of this meeting were Morphing Structures, Biomedical Devices, Emerging Applications, and Synthesis and Thermomechanical Characterization.
